Will Sawiris Cultural Award ceremony be postponed again?

CAIRO – 19 April 2021: The Sawiris Foundation for Development has previously stated that it will organize an announcement and distribution ceremony for the 2020 Sawiris Cultural Awards in April 2021.

However, no date has been set for the awards ceremony, despite the confirmation of more than one official within the foundation that the ceremony will be held in April. This leaves us with the possibility that the announcement of the largest cultural award in Egypt will be postponed again.

One of the shortlisted candidates for the 2020 Sawiris Awards, confirmed that the award management has not contacted any of the candidates yet, and none of them know the date of the annual award’s ceremony.

He pointed out that there seems to be a tendency to postpone the ceremony until the end of May or early June, to take place after the end of the month of Ramadan and the blessed Eid al-Fitr holiday.
