CAIRO – 5 April 2021: Al-Nahda Scientific and Cultural Association [Cairo Jesuit] holds the award ceremony for the first Yahya Haqi Novel Competition for Youth, organized in cooperation with the Alliance of Egyptians in North America and Canada on April 9 at 6 p.m.
The ceremony includes a speech given by Secretary-General of the Award Mohammad Abul-Ghar, and a speech given by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Nahda Scientific and Cultural Association Father William Sidhum, among others.
The jury had read about 130 works of fiction that were submitted for the award. The award was opened for applications on October 2020. The rules stipulated that the applicant must not be more than 40 years of age, and that the work should not have previously received a literary prize.
The prize value for the first winner is LE 150,000, and for the second winner LE 70,000.
