CAIRO - 12 July 2020: Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat accentuated Sunday the importance of having the public and private sector as well as civil society institutions joining arms as a volt-face in the face of the current coronavirus pandemic.

During her participation earlier in a webinar organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean forum on governmental and legislative action required to support the productive sector in the post Covid-19 Economic Recovery, the minister said the current pandemic underscored the need of reshaping the world's economic and social systems, as well as the importance of enhancing cooperation among all relevant parties, taking into consideration the pandemic's sharp fallout on world economies; production and consumption rates.

According to the minister, the public and the private sector should corporate efforts on four axes; accelerating the path of all-out economic and societal empowerment, laying out a new vision for economic integration, capitalizing on industrial development, and reinforcing environmental monitoring and management.

Achieving 2030 sustainable development goals should go on intact, despite the impact triggered by the plague, she noted, referring to Egypt's arduous efforts to press ahead with attaining sustainable development objectives.

Over 160 delegates representing governments, parliaments and economy of 26 countries and international organizations took part in the event, along with policy and decision makers and senior experts.
