CAIRO – 11 June 2020: Former Head of the General Investment Authority and former Vice President of the Egyptian Stock Exchange Mohsen Adel died Thursday at a hospital of the emerging coronavirus.

Mohsen Adel was the CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones between between 2018 and 2019, and was the vice president of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) for four years.

He also served as vice chairman of the Egyptian Association for Finance and Investment Studies between 2010 and 2017, the managing director of Pioneers Fund for Investment Funds, and the financial advisor to the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies.

Additionally, Mohsen Adel has served as vice-chairman of the Board for Studies and Research Affairs at the Egyptian Society for Finance and Investment Studies since November 15, 2019.

He was the head of the investment sector in the House of Expertise for Economic Development since 2019, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Engineer Insurance Company representing the Commercial International Investment Company.

Adel was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Stock Exchange between 2013 and 2017 and the Financial Services Institute between 2013 and 2017, and a member of the Egyptian Investment Management Association Emma, the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development, and the Capital Market Advisory Committee Board of Directors of the Financial Supervisory Authority between 2013 and 2017.

Furthermore, Adel lectured in finance and investment at the Center for Managers, the Institute of Financial Services, the Selska School of Business Administration and the Saudi Banking Institute.

Adel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Stock Market Analysis from Cairo University, and a BA in Foreign Trade from Helwan University
