EGX ends on mixed note for 5th day, benchmark flat

CAIRO – 19 June 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes extended its mixed performance for a fifth session by the close of Monday’s trading, amid sideways trading and low turnover.

The benchmark index EGX30 was almost flat, adding a slight 0.09 percent to close at 13,508 points. In turn, the EGX50 index edged down 0.31 percent, to hit 2,090 at close.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.4 percent, ending at 622 points. Further, the all-embracing EGX100 index was also up 0.38 percent to close near to 1,473 points.

Market capitalization added around LE 3.1 billion ($171.3 million) totaling LE 690.5 billion. The market turnover amounted to LE 753 million and foreign traders were the sole net buyers.
