Foreign investors’ net purchases record LE 6.6B in EGX

CAIRO – 11 June 2017: Non-Arab foreign investors’ net purchases amounted to LE 6.6 billion ($363 million) in the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) since the beginning of 2017, while the Arabs registered net purchase of LE 52.9 million.

In the last week’s trading, the non-Arab foreign investors’ net purchases registered LE 410.98 million on the EGX, while Arab investors recorded net sales of LE 113.1 million, according to the EGX weekly report.

Egyptian investors’ transactions accounted for 61.25 percent of the total market transactions, while non-Arab foreigners’ transactions stood at 24.89 percent and those of Arabs recorded 13.86 percent.

The institutions’ transactions accounted for 45.59 percent of the total transactions, while the rest of transactions were made by individuals, recording 54.41 percent of the total transactions. The institutions’ net purchases reached LE 341.47 million.
