Egypt, EBRD discuss cooperation in railway sector

CAIRO - 5 March 2019: Deputy Transport Minister Amr Shaath had talks on Tuesday with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on cooperation between the two sides in the development of the railway and underground sectors.

According to a statement by the ministry, the meeting took up cooperation with the bank for upgrading Line 1 of the Underground.

Also, the two sides discussed a project for supplying Egypt with six air conditioned carriages for Line 2 of the Underground, according to the statement.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in the field of infrastructure such as electrifying train signals, added the statement
