EGX records semi-collective regression during Sunday’s session

CAIRO – 4 November 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in a semi-collective regression, amid Arab and foreign selling, and market capitalization loses LE 212.78 million.

The benchmark EGX30 dropped 0.24 percent, or 32.04 points, to close at 13,170.28 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 declined 0.81 percent, or 5.55 points, reaching 682.02 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched down 0.67 percent, or 11.496 points, closing at 1,710.85 points.

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX50 rose 0.03 percent, or 0.89 points, to reach 2,102.36 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 212.78 million, recording LE 750.72 billion, compared to LE 750.93 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 183.58 million shares, traded through 21,971 transactions, with a turnover of LE 529.41 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 8.29 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 7.16 million and LE 1.13 million, respectively.

Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 27.66 million, while Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 10.14 million, Le 18.07 million and LE 269,414, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 19.36 million, and LE 856,965, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 2.97 million.

Regarding Stocks, Raya Holding for Financial Investments, Nasr Company for Civil Works, and United Housing & Development were top gainers of the session by 9.86 percent, 7.99 percent and 6.29 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Misr Oil & Soap, Beltone Financial Holding, and Arab Pharmaceuticals were top losers of the session by 9.70 percent, 7.95 percent, and 3.60 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session in red, as EGX30 decreased 0.36 percent, EGX50 inched down 0.19 percent, EGX70 dropped 1.12 percent, and EGX100 lessened 0.96 percent.
