CAIRO - 26 May 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr presides the 104th round for the Council for Arab Economic Unity, according to the ministry’s released statement on Thursday.

Eight African and Middle Eastern countries are expected to participate in the upcoming round where Nasr urges Middle Eastern companies to invest in Egypt. The countries include Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Palestine, Mauritania, and Yemen.

The upcoming round is expected to focus on joint Arab economic cooperation and public-private partnership through potential suggestions of legislative forms such as the New Investment Law that aimed to attract foreign investments.

“This round will also discuss challenges met in launching new special Arab companies, annual report on economic performance of the eight countries, and methods to boost economic and social performance in each country,” said Nasr.

The Council for Arab Economic Unity has 18 member countries and has been established in 1957 post an agreement by the Economic Council for Arab League.
