CAIRO – 16 June 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continued its downtrend on Monday’s session, marked a regression for the third consecutive session, losing LE 7.2 billion, amid foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 1.18 percent, or 186.57 points, to close at 15,655.89 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 slipped 1.12 percent, or 29.98 points, to reach 2,656.30 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 dropped 0.97 percent, or 7.48 points, at 762.28 points, and the broader index EGX100 went down 1.20 percent, or 23.74 points, closing at 1,856.91 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 7.2 billion, recording LE 878.27 billion, compared to LE 885.47 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 118.24 million shares, traded through 17,246 transactions, with a turnover of LE 777.58 million.

foreign investors were net sellers at LE 21.03 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 5.17 million and LE 15.86 million, respectively.

Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 21.2 million, while Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 22.25 and LE 14.97 million, respectively.

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 27.4 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 5.34 million, and LE 6.06 million, respectively.

Zahraa Maadi Investment & Development, Delta Insurance, and Egyptians for Investment & Urban Development were top gainers of the session by 9.94 percent, 9.50 percent and 4.08 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, El Obour Real Estate Investment, Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co, and Misr National Steel – Ataqa were top losers of the session by 9.70 percent, 6.08 percent and 5.82 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Sunday’s session in red, as EGX30 slipped 0.24 percent, EGX50 dropped 0.82 percent, EGX70 decreased 0.69, and EGX100 went down 0.47 percent.
