CAIRO – 16 May 2017: Bahraini Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa expressed Tuesday the Bahraini government and private sector’s interest in investing in Egypt’s national projects, including the Suez Canal Axis and the new desert land reclamation project known as “1.5 Million Feddan Project.”

Bin Abdullah highlighted that they are currently working on an investment map, which is expected to be released soon once the New Investment Law comes into effect. This came in the press remarks on the sideline of the opening of the first Egyptian-Bahraini Exhibition, sponsored by the Bahraini-Egyptian Joint Business Council.

Bahraini Kingdom ranks as the 14th largest investor state in Egypt; the volume of the investments reached $2.7 billion by the end of 2016.

Egypt's Ambassador to Bahrain Soha el-Far hailed the Bahraini growing interest in expanding cooperation with Egypt represented by the mutual visits between the two countries leaders.

Moreover, she praised the Egyptian government’s ongoing efforts to remove obstacles facing foreign investors and to establish an environment which encourages investment.
