CAIRO – 28 February 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday in a mixed note, amid Egyptian and foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX30 slipped 0.32 percent, or 50.19 points, to end at 15,472.69 points, leaving the highest point that the index reached on Tuesday.

EGX30 recorded its highest level in history in Tuesday’s session, achieving the level of 15,522.88 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went down 0.17 percent or 1.49 points, ending at 860.72 points, while the broader index EGX100 edged up 0.15 percent or 3.16 points, to close at 2107.30 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 leveled off 0.52 percent, or 14.04 points, closing at 2706.16 points.

Market Capitalization lost LE 4 billion, recording LE 892.29 billion ($50.48 billion), compared to LE 896.32 billion in Tuesday's session.

The trading volume reached 239.05 million shares traded through 38,350 transactions with a turnover of LE 3.96 billion.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 188.2 million and LE 307.73 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers at LE 495.93 million.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 11.69 million and LE 369,680, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 3.96 million.

Egyptian and Foreign organizations sold by LE 199.89 million and LE 303.77 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought by LE 495.56 million.

Mena Touristic & Real Estate Investment, Alexandria New Medical Center, and Arab Valves Company were top gainers of the session by 11.02 percent, 9.88 percent, and 9.49 percent, respectively.

While Egyptian Satellite (NileSat), Memphis Pharmaceuticals, and Edita Food Industries S.A.E were top losers of the session by 7.30 percent, 5.60 percent, and 5.51 percent, respectively.

The Egyptian Exchange ended Tuesday’s trading session in green, as EGX30 rose 0.45 percent, EGX70 increased 0.20 percent, EGX100 edged up 0.94 percent and EGX50 leveled up 0.35 percent.
