EGX ends Tuesday in green, market cap. gains LE 4.4B

CAIRO – 27 February 2018: the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday in green, and market capitalization gained LE 4.39 billion.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.45 percent, or 68.88 points, to end at 15,522.88 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 increased 0.20 percent or 1.74 points, up to 862.21 points, and the broader index EGX100 edged up 0.94 percent or 19.57 points, ending at 2104.14 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 leveled up 0.35 percent, or 9.54 points, closing at 2720.20 points.

Market Capitalization gained LE 2.7 billion, recording LE 896.32 billion ($50.66 billion), compared to LE 891.93 billion in Monday’s session.

The trading volume reached 240.08 million shares traded through 30,525 transactions with a turnover of LE 1.23 billion.

Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 10.1 million and LE 10.2 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 20.3 million.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 32.8 million and LE 22.3 million while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 11.9 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 12.45 million and LE 32.4 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 1.77 million.

International Agricultural Products, Alexandria New Medical Center, and Arab Valves Company were top gainers of the session by 12.35 percent, 10 percent, and 9.72 percent, respectively.

While Obour Land for Food Industries, National Housing for Professional Syndicates and Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance were top losers of the session by 6.61 percent, 3.85 percent, and 3.83 percent, respectively.

The Egyptian Exchange ended Monday’s trading session on a mixed note, as EGX30 slipped 0.09 percent, EGX70 rose 0.11 percent, EGX100 edged up 0.27 percent and EGX50 leveled up 0.22 percent.
