CAIRO – 8 December 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stated that he encourages Egyptian investments in Africa in fields he deemed a ‘high priority’ such as construction, infrastructure, oil and gas mining, agriculture, telecommunications and information technology.

Sisi’s call to action came during his speech in the opening session of the second day of the Africa 2017 Forum.

He added that Egypt appreciates being a part of the African continent and its future is related to Africa’s future. He also affirmed the significance of achieving goals included in the 2063 comprehensive development agenda.

Egypt is offering support to it African counterparts with the objective of achieving integration. President Sisi also noted that Egypt is pursuing support for African initiatives from the African union and regional projects which aim to develop infrastructure and establishing linking roads such as setting up the route between Victoria Lake and the Mediterranean sea and the Cairo to Cape Town road.

Sisi confirmed the importance of cooperation between all countries to attract more investments and capital flows into the African continent in order to place itself on the economic map of the world.
