Egypt, Morocco trade ministers discuss fostering industry, trade ties

CAIRO – 9 October 2017:Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil asserted on Monday the importance of fostering ties with Morocco.

During his talks with his Moroccan counterpart Moulay Hafid Elalamy on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) currently held in Marrakesh, the minister pointed out at the various investment opportunities between the two countries in the fields of the production of heavy industries, food, textile, fertilizers and cars as well as exporting products to tje African and European markets.

In a press release, the Trade and Industry Ministry said that the meeting tackled re-holding joint trade committee meetings at the level of trade ministers to discuss fostering trade ties as well as amending industrial cooperation protocol between Egypt and Morocco.

The minister also urged to encourage Moroccan businessmen to invest in the Egyptian market to benefit from the facilities provided by the Egyptian government, adding that they can use the Egyptian market to export to the markets of the east African countries.

Meanwhile, Elalamy asserted his country’s keenness on boosting relations with Egypt in all fields.

He also pointed out that the Egyptian businessmen can use the Moroccan market to export to the west African countries
