CAIRO - 7 Oct 2017 : Egypt and the UAE inked three memorandums of understanding in the fields of producing, manufacturing and storing dates in a number of Egyptian governorates.

The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Kabil, UAE Ambassador to Egypt Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, New Valley Governor Mohamed el Zamalout and Giza Governor Mohamed Kamal el Dali.

Signing these deals comes within the framework of the strategy implemented by the trade ministry to develop dates sector in Egypt via cooperation with the world institutions concerned, Minister of Trade and Indsutry Tareq Qabil said.

The current period witnesses large momentum in cooperation between Cairo and the UAE’s Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, he noted.

The minister indicated that the three deals aim to raise competitiveness, optimize the use of available resources as well as to improve productivity.
