Egypt's cabinet approves farmers union bill

CAIRO- 4 October 2017:The cabinet approved during a meeting under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Wednesday a bill on setting up Farmers Union and referred it to the State Council, said Agriculture Minister Abdel Monem el Bana Wednesday.

Under the bill, the union will be treated like the rest of vocational unions and its members will have medical insurance and pensions, the minister said at a press conference.

Those who will apply to the Farmers Union should not be members of any other union, he added.
