CAIRO – 11August 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr andAlexanderBodioros,Director of the UNFPA office in Egypt discussedon Thursday enhancing cooperation between Egypt and UNFPA, particularly in fighting the population growth.

In press statements, Nasr underlined the importance of coordination between the IFAD and all United Nations organizations in supportingEgypt’s youth and its development agenda.

In this regard, the minister highlighted the importance of working to meet the needs of the neediest.

Meanwhile, The Director of the Office of the United Nations Population Fund in Egypt said that they are working to uphold the right of women, men and children to lead ahealthy life and enjoy equal employment opportunities, underscoring their intention to support Egypt in using population data necessary for completing the policies of anti-poverty programs and further help the government to deliberatethe needs of the coming generations.

He alsoconfirmed that the United Nations throws its weight behind Egypt’s development strategies, especially the national population strategy, noting that the youth issues are among their top priorities.
