U.S. dollar weakens in mid-day banking transactions

CAIRO- 10 August 2017: U.S. dollar exchange rate has declined in mid-day banking transactions in two state-owned banks and private sector banks.

In Banque du Caire, the dollar marked LE 17.70 for buying and LE 17.80 for selling, five piasters down from the morning transactions’ rate.

As for Banque Misr, the U.S. dollar recorded LE 17.74 for buying and LE 17.84 for selling, after it was LE 17.78 for buying and LE 17.78 for selling in morning transactions, losing four piasters.

In Egypt’s largest state-owned bank; the National Bank of Egypt, the U.S. dollar was stable at LE 17.75 for buying and LE 17.85 for selling.

Decreasing three piasters, the U.S. dollar exchange rate at the largest private sector, Commercial International Bank (CIB), marked LE 17.75 for buying and LE 17.85 for selling, compared to LE 17.78 for buying and LE 17.88 for selling in the morning.
