Wednesday EGX trading closes with mixed performance amid foreign and Arab selling

Cairo – May 1, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday trading with mixed performance.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 3.36 percent to end the session at 25,270.55 points.

In contrast, EGX 70 was down by 1.74 percent to 5,670.65 points, while EGX 100 fell by 2.25 percent to hit 8,117.48 points.

Wednesday trading saw 542,64 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.42 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.718 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 91.23 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with LE 64.89 million and LE 26.34 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by International Co for Investment & Development with a climb of 8.53 percent, TMG Holding by 7.92 percent, and Heliopolis Housing by 7.92.

The largest losses of the session were by Samad Misr -EGYFERT which dropped by 12.08 percent, General Company For Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction by 9.25 percent, and Prime Holding by 5.22 percent.
