EGX flags in green after Eid al-Fitr, market cap. gains LE 66.47B

CAIRO - 15 April 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) flagged in green during the first trading session after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which ended on April 14, adding around LE 66.47 billion to the market capitalization amid local purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 3.90 percent, or 1,112.72 points, to end at 29,616.47 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 2.36 percent, or 154.63 points, to close at 6,696.15 points.
 
Moreover, the broader index EGX 100 increased 2.93 percent, or 273.09 points, to 9,584.51 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 66.47 billion, recording LE 1.994 trillion, compared to LE 1.928 trillion in Monday’s session, April 8, the last session before Eid al-Fitr holiday.
 
The trading volume reached 874.76 million shares, traded through 143,630 transactions, with a turnover of LE 4.75 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 354.04 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 159.77 million, and LE 194.27 million, respectively.
 
QALA for Financial Investments, Arabian Cement Company, and Arab Aluminum were top gainers of the session at 19.64 percent, 13.48 percent, and 12.77 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Delta for Printing & Packaging, Concrete Fashion Group for Commercial & Industrial Investment, and Osool ESB Securities Brokerage were top losers of the session by 15.53 percent, 6.56 percent, and 5.60 percent, respectively.
