EGX flags in green before Eid al-Fitr holiday, market cap. gains LE25.43B

CAIRO - 8 April 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) entered the green zone during the last session before the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which ends on April 14, adding around EGP 25.43 billion to the market capitalization amid local purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.25 percent, or 352.09 points, to end at 28,503.75 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.88 percent, or 57.24 points, to close at 6,541.52 points.
 
Moreover, the broader index EGX 100 increased 1.10 percent, or 101.08 points, to 9,311.42 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 25.43 billion, recording LE 1.928 trillion, compared to LE 1.902 trillion in Sunday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 624.6 million shares, traded through 82,815 transactions, with a turnover of LE 2.32 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 102.73 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 38.14 million, and LE 64.58 million, respectively.
 
Alexandria Containers and goods, Delta for Printing & Packaging, and Lecico Egypt were top gainers of the session at 11.93 percent, 10.05 percent, and 5.86 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Alexandria Flour Mills, Development & Engineering Consultants, and Al Khair River For Development Agricultural Investment and Environmental Services Co were top losers of the session by 5.34 percent, 4.60 percent, and 4.26 percent, respectively.
