CAIRO - 12 March 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to expand investments in Egypt’s human resources to actively explore and capitalize on all available development opportunities.

El-Sisi pointed to the importance of ensuring that investments are channeled in a manner that maximizes benefits for the citizens.

This instruction was given during a meeting with Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said, according to a statement from the Presidency.

During the meeting, the President was briefed on the progress of various projects under the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, including Egypt's investment plan for the upcoming fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025.

El-Sisi also reviewed the implementation of the current fiscal year's plan, with a focus on priority sectors such as health and education, which contribute to the development of Egyptian capabilities.

In February, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced that Egypt aims to attract LE 600 billion in private investments during the FY2023/2024, accounting for 36 percent of the total targeted investments.

Furthermore, in January, Minister El-Said stated that Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) increased to LE 10.2 trillion in FY2022/2023, compared to LE 5.6 trillion in FY2018/2019. The target for GDP during the fiscal year 2022/2023 was set at LE 9.2 trillion.
