CAIRO – 15 February 2024: In 2023, the exports of ready-made clothing from Egypt reached a total of $2.437 billion. The President of the Egyptian Ready-made Garments Export Council of Egypt (RMGEC), Marie Louis, stated that their goal for 2024 is to restore the positive performance of exports.

Between February 13 and 15, 2024, the Council, in partnership with the USAID’s Trade Reform and Development Project in Egypt, participated in the "Magic Show" held in Las Vegas, USA.

The president of RMGEC mentioned that the Council's delegation consisted of 16 companies, all of which actively engaged in the event.

Louis emphasized the significance of the Magic Show exhibition within the clothing and fashion industry. She highlighted its status as a crucial international trade event that brings together manufacturers and buyers from around the world.

The exhibition attracts major customers, which will enhance international trade for Egyptian companies, increase Egypt's exports, and promote Egyptian products globally.

To expand the volume of exports, she mentioned that efforts are being made to open new markets through collaboration with commercial representation offices in nearby countries. This is particularly important given the ongoing repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which has had a negative impact on global trade.
