CAIRO - 14 February 2024: The launch of the Universal Coding Corporation (UCC) during this challenging time benefits the Egyptian economy, according to the Chairman of the UCC, Ahmed Swailam.
Swailam told Egypt Today (ET) that in this difficult situation, the company’s goal is to establish a presence to support the Egyptian economy. Its objectives are threefold: firstly, to protect information security, which is crucial; secondly, to prevent monopolies in a market dominated by a single competitor for over fifty years.
Headquarters and Economic Support:
"While our company's main headquarters are in Britain, we, being Egyptians, decided that the focus should be here [in Egypt]. It will be a means of support for our economy, bringing in hard currency for the country,” the UCC Chairman said.
He added that the company exports a product that is indispensable. The timing serves us; we have come at a possible time to benefit the country. Egypt leads in something; it possesses a company that ranks second globally. Hopefully, soon, we may have one on the top.
Currency and Economic Contribution:
"We do not face a crisis in providing foreign currency because we do not import raw materials to manufacture. We invent and export what we create. We have no problems; we don't need dollars; on the contrary, we bring dollars into the country. We are not in need of anything; we won't import raw materials. Our minds are here, servers are here, know-how is here, and we are internationally recognized and accredited,” he revealed.
Future Expectations:
"In the upcoming period, we expect the company to boom in this business. Hopefully, we will have a strong presence, especially as we excel in various products,” he expected.
Regarding any challenges facing the company during the establishment and launch, Swailam stated that they did not face any difficulties in establishing the company; the procedures were ‘very smooth,’ especially since we are contributing something meaningful to the country, something we aspired to for a long time—a pioneering initiative for Egypt.
Previously in February, UCC officially unveiled its barcode, QR Code, and RFID systems for the first time in the Egyptian market.
UCC specializes in barcode services containing all product-related data. Additionally, the company offers Quick Response (QR) Code services, storing various information such as numbers, letters, complex languages, branching links, email addresses, and even complete contact information for specific individuals. The company also provides Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, allowing for identity verification using radio waves. RFID relies on serial-coded labels to identify products, with information recorded on a chip or a tiny attached antenna chip that can receive and transmit data through radio waves.
