CAIRO - 23 December 2023: The total number of ships crossing the Suez Canal has increased significantly in the recent period, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). 
 
CAPMAS stated that the total number of ships recorded at about 2,345 ships last October, while about 2,131 ships were recorded in the same month of last year 2022, which is an increase of 10 percent.
 
The number of oil tankers was about 705 tankers last October, compared to about 590 oil tankers in the same month of last year 2022, an increase of about 115 oil tankers.
 
Suez Canal revenues recorded a slight increase last October, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, reaching about 27.2 billion pounds, up from 26.4 billion pounds in September, an increase of about 800 million pounds.
 
Data indicates that Suez Canal revenues last October increased over the same month of last year 2022, which was about 14.3 billion pounds, an increase of 12.9 billion pounds.
