CAIRO – 27 December 2023: Egypt plans to establish an agricultural food industries complex in Sadat City with investment totaling $300 million. The project, which is expected to become the largest of its kind in the Middle East, according to a statement released by the Cabinet.

The complex is a collaborative effort between the MAFI for agricultural produce industries and renowned international companies specializing in agricultural food industry technologies. By harnessing the latest global technologies, the Sadat City complex will serve as a hub for cutting-edge agricultural food production.

During its initial phase, the complex aims to achieve an annual production yield exceeding 100,000 tons of high-quality agricultural food products. This substantial output will be made possible through the integration of advanced technologies and the expertise of international industry leaders.

The establishment of the agricultural food complex received a seal of approval from Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who attended the signing ceremony to commemorate the project's initiation. The Prime Minister's presence underscored the government's commitment to promoting and supporting the development of the agricultural sector.

One of the primary advantages of the complex lies in its potential to generate a significant number of employment opportunities. It is estimated that the project will create over 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing a substantial boost to employment in the region. Furthermore, the complex aims to export more than 80% of its production, contributing to the growth and prosperity of Egypt's economy. The project represents a direct infusion of foreign financing and investment, further solidifying Egypt's status as an attractive destination for international capital.
