Africa Automotive Forum's 2nd day focuses on driving demand, supply chain at IATF2023

CAIRO - 12 November 2023: The second day of the Africa Automotive Forum kicked off on Sunday. 
 
The agenda of the second day of the forum which commenced at the third edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair, IATF2023, for two days, Nov. 11 and 12, focused on the driving demand and the automotive supply chain.
 
During the driving demand discussions, panels focused on affordable mobility solutions and access to affordable vehicle asset finance. It also discussed the used and grey vehicles imports- the reality, the journey and the opportunity in a just transition.
 
 
As for the automotive supply chains, it highlighted the industrializing of the African spare parts industry and optimizing the auto supply chain corridors, in addition to Africa’s game changer- mineral transformation and the development of the mineral value chain. 
 
The Automotive Forum (conference), spearheaded by the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM) addresses the most pertinent issues affecting Africa’s automotive growth. 
 
The program of the forum included presentations from global automotive leaders, including multi-national OEMs, and participation of several Heads of State.
 
It sought to facilitate co-operation and the development of regional auto supply chains (trade between auto hubs) for auto manufacturing on the continent, in addition to achieving an unprecedented networking with all of Africa’s key role-players and international partners.
 
The IATF2023, which is the third edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair, provides a platform for businesses to access an integrated African market of over 1.3 billion people with a GDP of over $3.5 trillion created under the African Continental Free Trade Area, according to the African Union.
