CAIRO – 14 August 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday in the green zone for the second session in a row, adding around LE 2.68 billion to the market capitalization, amid Arab purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.23 percent, or 41.43 points, to end at 17,897.5 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.99 percent, or 35.75 points, to close at 3,635.21 points.
The broader index EGX 100 hiked 0.67 percent, or 35.89 points, to 5,360.82 points.
Market capitalization gained around LE 2.68 billion, recording LE 1.216 trillion, compared to LE 1.214 trillion in Sunday’s session.
The trading volume reached 800.59 million shares, traded through 85,491 transactions, with a turnover of LE 3.22 billion.
Arab investors were net buyers at LE 155.97 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 48.18 million, and LE 107.78 million, respectively.
Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment, Lecico Egypt, and Arab Aluminum were top gainers of the session at 19.11 percent, 18.71 percent and 11.67 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, General Company for Land Reclamation,Development & Reconstruction, Egyptians for Investment & Urban Development, and Al Khair River for Development Agricultural Investment & Envir were top losers of the session by 4.14 percent, 3.30 percent, and 3.05 percent, respectively.
