CAIRO - 11 August 2023: The total government investments in the 2023/2024 plan for the development of North Sinai amount to about L.E.6.5 billion.

 

The public treasury contributes about 44.6% of the amount to finance projects in the fields of agriculture, education, sanitation, drinking water, services, and housing.

 

That includes the development of the city of Arish, 17 development projects, the development of slums, the replacement and renovation of drinking water stations, the extension of service to disadvantaged areas, the development of youth facilities, the renovation of mosques, the extension of sewage services, and a sewage network.

 

In the field of agriculture and land reclamation, the plan includes the construction of 13 agricultural communities in cooperation with the Saudi Fund for Development, and a public irrigation network covering 141,995 feddans.

 

That also includes the electromechanical works for a pumping station, a network of pipes to irrigate outlet No. 16, an area of 14,505 feddans, and power supply, the stations in the project, and the solar energy system. The project also includes the renovation of irrigation facilities, gates, and switches.

 

The construction of a drainage network covering 6,300 feddans is also included in the plan, as well as paving canal bridges to raise the efficiency of the national irrigation and drainage structure.
