CAIRO - 13 July 2017: Health Minister Ahmed Emad el Din attended on Thursday the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol with a Chinese company over the rabies vaccine.

The agreement was signed by the the Egyptian Company for Production of Vaccines (EGYVAC) and Liaoning Cheng Da Biotechnology Company of China.

The deal is meant to boost technological cooperation between the two companies over the production of rabies vaccines.

The vaccine is scheduled to be produced within six months at the EGYVAC factories, the minister said.

Under this agreement, Egypt is expected to produce three million vials of the rabies vaccine a year, the minister added.

Of all, two million vials will be used by the Health Ministry and the private sector, while the remaining will be exported abroad, the minister added.
