CAIRO – 11 August 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session in green, adding around LE 2.34 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.

 

EGX will be on Official holiday on Thursday, August 12, on an occasion of Islamic New Year (Hegris 1443). Trading will be resumed on Sunday, August 15.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.28 percent, or 30.67 points, to end at 10,884.5 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.06 percent, or 1.45 points, to end at 2,386.31 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inched up 0.15 percent, or 4.32 points, to close at 2,871.09 points, and the broader index EGX 100 hiked 0.03 percent, or 1.28 points, to close at 3,846.51 points.

 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.34 billion, recording LE 715.71 billion, compared to LE 713.37 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

 

The trading volume reached 698.44 million shares, traded through 57,533 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.74 billion.
 

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 40.17 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 23.08 million, and LE 17.09 million, respectively.

 

 

Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 14.84 million, and LE 197,549, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 14.56 million.

 

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 25.61 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 8.24 million, and LE 16.89 million, respectively.


 

Misr Oils & Soap, El Shams Housing & Urbanization, and Acrow Misr were top gainers of the session at 9.98 percent, 9.91 percent and 9.85 percent, respectively.

 

 

Meanwhile, Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, El Arabia for Land Reclamation, and Grand Investment Capital were top losers of the session by 9.18 percent, 8.77 percent, and 7.96 percent, respectively.
