CAIRO – 12 August 2018: Emirati Minister of state for foreign affairs, Anwar Gargash, praised on Saturday the Egyptian efforts to realize a reconciliation between the warring Palestinian factions through his official account on Twitter.

“All the appreciation for the Egyptian efforts to realize the Palestinian reconciliation and save the citizens’ lives, Egypt has been and remains the most important guarantor of history and it has made great sacrifices to support the Palestinian people and their cause,” tweeted Gargash.

Egypt has managed to secure a reconciliation deal between both Palestinian rival parties, Hamas and Fatah, on October 12, a step hailed as a breakthrough to the decade-long division.

Egyptian authorities hosted a series of meetings which led to an agreement between Hamas and Fatah, under which the Palestinian Concession Government assumed administration affairs of Rafah Border on December 1.

Egyptian authorities have also played an active role to pacify the erupted situation in Gaza following a heavy Israeli aggression against the citizens in the strip.
