Egyptian expats launch a campaign supporting Sisi

CAIRO – 5 September 2017: “A Citizen Supporting A President” is the slogan of the campaign launched by Egyptian expats that are supporting President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in running for a second presidential term.

Egyptian communities abroad began preparations for a pro-Sisi campaign by calling on a number of Egyptian public figures abroad to join the campaign, and choosing coordinators in all European countries.

The campaign chose a member of the General Union of Egyptians in Austria, Bahjat al-Obeidi, to be the coordinator in European countries, and the head of the Egyptian Family House in Kuwait, Mahmoud Ashish, as a general coordinator in Arab countries.

Obeidi stated that all Egyptian expats support Sisi for a second term, as presidential elections will be held in Egypt in 2018. He also stressed that President Sisi has a vision that can lead Egypt in its great stance.

The vice president of the campaign, Naser Mater, said that the campaign will launch a website and an application to be filled online.

For his part, the head of the General Union of Egyptians in Austria, Hossam Bazina, pointed out that the aim of the campaign in Austria is not to show the president's achievements as they are clear to all. The aim of the campaign is to convey the voice of the community members to the president.
