Luxor announces updates of Haya Karima in developing services

CAIRO - 18 April 2024: Workers on the Presidential Initiative "Haya Karima" continue to work day and night to complete all the projects included within the initiative's work in the Qalyubia Governorate, specifically in the Shubra El-Kheima center and city.

 

The initiative includes projects within 9 local units, 36 villages, and 148 hamlets, totaling 702 projects at a cost of approximately 7 billion EGP.

 

Despite holiday celebrations, work is ongoing to complete these projects as part of the national initiative. Communities in Shubra El-Kheima, Qalyubia, are beginning to reap the benefits of the "Haya Karima" initiative projects as many of them have been completed and some have entered service after being handed over by the relevant authorities.

 

The handover process for completed projects has begun, with trial operations starting and services commencing, raising the level of service to a standard befitting the Egyptian citizen.

 

Abdel Hamid El Haggar, Governor of Qalyubia, emphasized the continued field monitoring of the implementation rates of the "Haya Karima" initiative projects, noting that the initiative targets Shubra El-Kheima with a total of 9 local units, 36 villages, and 148 hamlets, totaling 702 projects at a cost of approximately 7 billion EGP.

 

He stated that 580 projects have been completed, with 96 projects currently in progress, representing 14%, surpassing an overall completion rate of about 92%. The governor explained that discussions have taken place regarding the handover of projects, with 9 agricultural complexes and 9 service complexes completed administratively.

 

Additionally, 27 youth centers have been established, with work underway on additional centers. In the sanitation sector, 113 projects have been implemented, with 10 projects ongoing and an execution rate of 98%.

 

Furthermore, 7 new health units have been built, along with the establishment of 6 ambulance points and the construction of 20 bridges and 83 new schools.

 

Khaled El Arefi, Mayor of Shubra El-Kheima, confirmed the completion of a large number of projects in various sectors. Specifically, 78 water projects were completed with a 100% success rate, while 32 out of 36 electricity network projects were finished, also with a 100% success rate. Similar progress was achieved in gas, telecommunications, and educational building sectors, with completion rates reaching 100% or close to it.
