Prominent television host Tariq Habib, died at age 77 in June. He started his career in the banking business and rose to become the manager of the American Express bank. In 1970, Habib turned to media and started hosting two live shows. He was the first host to interview literary greats Taha Hussein, Naguib Mahfouz and Tawfiq Al-Hakeem. Habib’s most popular shows were Ahlan Wasahlan and Horoof w’ Oloof.
