The ‘Egyptian Women Can’

conference is organized on July 2-3 and aims to strengthen the role of female Egyptian expatriates in developing Egypt and to achieve the sustainable development goals of ‘Egypt Vision 2030.’ It also sheds light on the achievements of such women in all fields to form role models for new generations of young men and women.

1. It is the second edition after the conference "Egypt can afford it" hosted in Hurghada, December 2016
2. It is organized by the Ministry of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and in cooperation with the National Council for Women
3. It is part of the “Al Taa Marbouta is your strength” awareness campaign launched by the NCW during the month of Ramadan to support and empower Egyptian women
4. It comes in conjunction with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s announcement that 2017 is the ‘year of Egyptian women’
5. Holding the conference in Cairo is a message to the world that Egypt is safe for tourists to visit in groups trips or as individuals
6. 31 expat female Egyptian experts specialized in scientific, intellectual and academic fields participated in the conference
7. Media figure Lamis al-Hadidy facilitated the first session entitled ‘she and the Government,’ under conference theme ‘women are partners in decision-making’
8. The 4 female ministers Ghada Waly, Sahar Nasr, Nabila Makram, and Hala al-Saeed presented their experience in drawing policies and decision-making in Egypt
9. Conference themes included women and governance, citizenship, empowerment, health, economy, culture, arts, media, technical education, and migration
