African-European partnership important for developing animal wealth

ROME - 3 July 2017: Egyptian Agriculture Minister Abdel Monem el Bana underlined on Monday the importance of African-European partnership for developing animal wealth, especially as regards cooperation for fighting Peste des petits ruminants (PPR).

The PPR is a highly contagious and economically important viral disease affecting goats, sheep and wild ruminants.

The minister gave the remarks during a workshop here on measures to get rid of PPR which is currently circulating in Asian and African countries, creating problems in small ruminant farming.
