Egypt's Agriculture minister underlines necessity of intensifying efforts to develop farms, valleys

CAIRO, Oct 18 (MENA) - Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayyed El Quseir underlined on Sunday the necessity of intensifying efforts to develop farmlands and valleys to increase the livestock production.

Chairing the board meeting of the Desert Research Center, Quseir called for increasing efficiency of non-operating assets and outlining a future research plan and a timeframe for the desert governorates in order to support the researches in the field of exploring arable lands.

The minister praised the efforts of the desert research center in the fields of land reclamation, underground water researches, water desalination and establishment of desalination stations in the border governorates.

Former agriculture minister Essam Fayed, Head of the Scientific Research Academy Mahmoud Saqr and Acting Head of the Desert Research Center Abdullah Zaghloul and members of the center's board attended the meeting.
