The visit also aims to mobilize Arab and international support to assist Lebanon in addressing the repercussions of the disaster that displaced thousands of families whose apartments have been devastated in the wake of the blast, a source at the Arab League General Secretariat said.

The repercussions may last for a longer period of time especially in light of the financial and economic difficulties Lebanon is encountering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
