CAIRO – 21 June 2017: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has greeted the Egyptian
people and the Islamic world during a speech on the occasion of Lailatul Qadr, (the night in which the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhamed).

The president reiterated his call for the renewal of the religious discourse to defeat extremism and terrorism which lead to the killing of innocent people and undermine the development process in the country.

The president called for dealing with all terrorist organizations with one criterion and stopping all financing to all of them.

He said the Egyptian government is strongly confronting terrorists with military, political and intellectual means.

President Sisi said Egypt is doing its best for backing political solutions to the region's crises to achieve stability and security of the Arab people with the aim of putting an end to the political vacuum which the terrorist groups exploited to spread terror.

The president pointed out that some persons in the region provide media, cultural and political platforms to terrorist groups and spend billions of dollars annually on them to spread destructive ideologies.
