CAIRO – 17 June 2017: The Emirate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed Friday Gulf rift carried out a number of meetings with senior members of Congress during his visit to Washington DC to discuss the gulf rift, according to WAM news agency.

Abdullah briefed the members of the congress on the recent diplomatic and economic measures taken by Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain against Qatar, in order to stop its financial support for extremist organizations and its meddling in the affairs of other countries.

He met with Sen. Chris Murphy (Connecticut), Representative Mark Meadows (North Carolina), Sen. Chris Coons (Delaware), Sen. Michael Bennet (Colorado), Sen. Tim Kaine (Virginia) and Representative and House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (Maryland).

US-UAE bilateral relations were also discussed during the meeting, as well as diplomatic and economic measures, said the news agency.
