CAIRO, Nov 28 (MENA) - As many as 569,000 students earned their higher education degrees during 2018, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said on Thursday.

In 2017, 537,000 students graduated from universities and high institutes, the annual higher education report by CAPMAS said, pointing to a 5.9 percent rise in the 2018 number of graduates.

The report attributed that to an increase in the number of private universities and high institutes nationwide.

The report pointed out that over 240,000 students are enrolled in post-graduate studies in universities, of which 60.5 percent are registered for getting a diploma, 29 percent for a masters degree and 10.5 percent for a PhD.
