CAIRO – 09 June 2017: EgyptAir delegation headed Friday to Boeing Headquarters in Seattle to receive new Boeing Jet. The fifth Boeing B737-800 NG airplane from the 737 Max family will arrive in Cairo in couple of days, as part of a deal for nine airplanes that EgyptAir had purchased to join its fleet.

The delegation includes different specializations that will be responsible for the final checks, trial voyage and will finish receiving procedures.

“The choice of this type of Boeing comes within the interest of promoting EgyptAir's services to clients, to improve their travel experience,” said chairman of the company Safwat Mesallam. MENA reported.

The plane will become the 65th airplane in the six-year-old fleet, after a replacement and renewal plan was drawn,” Mesallam added.

The new airplane has 154 seats including 16 seats for business class. It has a front video screen for every passenger and wider spaces for carry-on luggage in the overhead bins. A-Masry Al-Youm reported.

This airplane is number 25 from this model, and considered the best selling in 737 Boeing family, where it can reach different destinations. The 737 delivers the superior reliability, fuel efficiency and high-value returns operators require in today's competitive market, according to Boeing official website.

The aircraft is part of a $864 million deal between EgyptAir and Boeing. It includes delivering 9 airplanes to the Egyptian company by the end of 2017, according to the state-owned newspaper Al-Ahram. Egypt received the first jet in December 2016.
