KUWAIT CITY, April 8 (MENA) - Kuwait expressed on Monday concern over the latest developments in Libya, calling on all sides to refrain from any acts that lead to further escalation and bloodshed and to resort to a political solution.

Some 21 people were killed and 27 others wounded in fighting near the capital, Tripoli as rebel forces under General Khalifa Haftar advanced from the east with the aim of taking Tripoli.

In an official statement, a source at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry expressed concern over growing armed clashes among Libyans at a time the international community is seeking to involve Libyan brothers in a political process to reach a national consensus that materializes the Libyans' aspirations for security and stability.

The source urged all sides to seek to reach a political solution to guarantee Libya's security and stability.
