CAIRO - 6 June 2017: A twitter hashtag called #قاطعوا_قطر _الارهابية, “Boycott_terrorist_Qatar" has been launched in response to the tiny emirate’s current provocative stands against the Arab states of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Emirate, and its continuous support of terrorism.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain announced they are severing relations with Qatar over "its continuous support for terrorism," closing their airspace and seaports for Qatari transportation on Monday.

Egypt said in a statement early Monday that diplomatic relations have been suspended over Qatar's support for the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, adding that all airspace and seaports are closed to Qatari transportation.

"Qatar is promoting the terrorist ideology of Daesh (Islamic State militant group) and Al-Qaeda groups, and supports the terror attacks in Sinai," the statement added.

“Protecting national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism, Saudi Arabia has decided to cut diplomatic ties and consular relations with the State of Qatar,” announced the Saudi Foreign Ministry in a statement.

In May, The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia blocked Qatari state-run media outlets over provocative statements allegedly made by Qatari's Emir Tamim bin Hammad, in which he lashed out against US and Saudi Arabia, along with Emirate.

On its side, Qatar later confirmed that the Qatari news agency has been hacked and the statements were forged.

An illustrative video has been launched on Monday detailing Qatar’s actions and efforts to fund extremists in the region.
