UPDATE: 20 killed, 40 injured in Cairo Railway Station blaze

CAIRO – 27 February 2019: At least 20 people were announced dead and 40 others injured as a train locomotive derailed and crashed into a buffer stop at platform no. 6 at the main train station in Cairo's Ramsis.

Photographs on social media showed clouds of black smoke billowing from the building in central Cairo.

The fire engines managed to control the fire, and ambulances arrived to transport the wounded.
