Security defuses bomb near Giza's Istiqamah Mosque

CAIRO – 15 February 2019: Explosives specialists on Friday managed to defuse an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Al-Istiqamah Mosque, Giza Governorate.

A security source announced in press remarks that a Muslim Brotherhood operative targeted a crowded area near the mosque and planted the bomb, which later got defused.

Security forces on Friday morning suspected a strange object under the Giza Bridge and immediately a security cordon surrounded the place until specialists identified the object to be a bomb and defused it at once.

An investigation was opened into the incident and further details will be revealed soon.
