Environment min. probes with Polish amb. joint coop.

CAIRO - 8 November 2018: Environment Minister Yasmine Fo'ad discussed with Polish Ambassador here Michał Łabenda means of promoting bilateral cooperation in the environmental fields of mutual interest.

During their meeting, Fo'ad called for supporting the Egyptian international initiative on encouraging the use of nature-based ecosystem approaches to face up to the threats of biodiversity depletion, climate change and ecosystem deterioration.

The initiative will be launched during the 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 14 Egypt) to be held next week in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.

The Polish diplomat stressed his country's support to Egypt's hosting of CBD COP 14.
