Defense Minister meets Cypriot counterpart to discuss cooperation

CAIRO -15 October 2018: Egypt’s Defense and Military Production Minister Mohamed Zaki met with his Cypriot counterpart Savvas Angelides visiting Egypt on Monday.

Zaki held an official reception ceremony for Angelides and his accompanying delegation at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense while the national anthem of both countries played.

The meeting tackled the latest developments in regional and international arenas, coordination of efforts to meet common challenges, as well as establishing security and stability in the region.

Discussions on military cooperation, joint exercises and exchange of experiences in many fields were also on the agenda.

Zaki stressed the depth of established ties between Egypt and Cyprus, expressing his hope that the next phase will see more joint cooperation.

Angelides praised the continuous development of Egyptian-Cypriot military relations and the bilateral cooperation between the two countries on various front.

The meeting was attended by a number of leaders from the armed forces and the Ambassador of Cyprus in Cairo.
